The Devil, as a serpent (Genesis 3:1; Revelation 12:9), tempted Eve in three steps:
1) Doubt - “Has God indeed said, 'You shall not eat of every tree of the garden'?" (Genesis 3:1);
2) Denial - "You will not surely die” (Genesis 3:4);
3) Distrust -"For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil" (Genesis 3:5).
The Devil tempts today in the same way.
1) Bible commentaries, sermons, and so-called “translations” fogs truth, Solomon wrote, “That I may make you know the certainty of the words of truth, That you may answer words of truth” (Proverbs 22:20-21).
2) Jesus’ truth is denied: "He who believes and is NOT baptized will be saved” (Mark 16:16).
3) “God is faithful” (2 Corinthians 1:18).

Reason for the Season PART 2:
"Inasmuch as many have taken in hand to set in order a narrative of those things which have been fulfilled among us" (Luke 1:1)..."it seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write to you an orderly account, most excellent Theophilus, that you may know the certainty of those things in which you were instructed" (Luke 1:3-4). The Book of Luke was written by the Holy Spirit because "many" were writing their own account of Jesus' life, but not accurately. Luke's "orderly account" literally meant he was writing about the events in Jesus' life "one after another." Time sequence means something, for "God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son" (Hebrews 1:1-2). - December 7, 2020

Reason for the Season PART 1:
"For we did not follow cunningly devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of His majesty" (2 Peter 1:16). Peter, James, and John had seen what took place on that Mount of Transfiguration that is recorded in Matthew 17:1-9; Mark 9:2-9; and Luke 9:28-36. It is important that we know:
(1) the written accounts of this are accurately recorded;
(2) Peter, as an eyewitness, verified that event in Christ's life on earth;
(3) God had spoken from Heaven to point out Jesus as "My beloved Son. Hear Him."
The Bible is not full of "fables" (the Greek word is "myths"), and should not be treated as such. What is written in the Bible should not be "jumbled up" as if it doesn't matter, and outside stories must never be added into the Bible text.

It's impossible to have a “Thanksgiving” unless there is someone to thank! The Apostle Paul wrote: “I thank God, whom I serve with a pure conscience, as my forefathers did, as without ceasing I remember you in my prayers night and day” (2 Timothy 1:3). (1) God is the only source of blessings to thank, so: "Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD” (Jeremiah 17:7). (2) Having a “pure conscience,” then: “Blessed is that man who makes the LORD his trust, And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies” (Psalm 40:4). (3) Being constantly remembered in prayers, so that: “Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked” (Proverbs 10:6). To some it is “Team Game Day,” to others it is “Turkey Game Day,” to Christians it is “Thank God Day.” - November 18, 2019

QUESTION: How can we tell when God is speaking to us? - January 26, 2020
ANSWER: God only speaks today through His written Word, the Bible. (Hebrews 1:1-2; John 5:46-47) Just as Moses' words were written to be read, so Jesus' words have been written to be read. So Paul preached (Acts 13:26-27). The Bible is not called "the Word of God" for nothing! ... Read More of this and other QA on the Questions Answered page.

QUESTION: How can Christians argue religion when they are forbidden to do that? February, 2019
Answer: Some will condemn any attempt to expose the organization and practice of evil, while harboring those who refuse to change from their evil ways. They make the church of Christ composed of a “mixed multitude” rather than people desiring to be pure from their sins. Ephesians 5:25-27. Have these Christians not read: 1. What David said in Psalm 34:14? ...

“God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son” (Hebrews 1:1-2). Jesus has said: “the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day” (John 12:48). But how does anyone know the words of Jesus? “Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away” (Luke 21:33). The things in the New Testament “are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31). We must believe everything the Bible says about Jesus – no more, and no less! His words are preserved in the Bible. - February 3, 2020

QUESTION: “Should we believe in a God different from everyone else’s god?”
ANSWER: The Bible is the gradual unfolding of the revelation of God, and therefore, it is His verbally inspired “Christian Evidence Textbook.”
1) The beginning of all rational thought is “God.” “Fear of the LORD” is the beginning of: Knowledge, Proverbs 1:7; Morality, Proverbs 3:7-“depart from evil;” Wisdom, Proverbs 9:10; Long life, Proverbs 10:27-“prolongs days”; Purpose in life, Ecclesiastes 12:13-“whole.”
2) Without “God” there would be no: “love” (1 John 4:16); absolute meaning for life on earth (Ecclesiastes 1:1-11); “beauty” (Ecclesiastes 3:11-13); close relationships (Ecclesiastes 4:7-12).
3) The Bible begins by proving that “God is” and the rest of the Bible proves that “He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him” (Hebrews 11:6). This is a one-verse outline of the entire Bible. “God” is the only adequate explanation for the intelligent design and function of the entire earth upon which we all live (Genesis 1-2), and God’s dealings with mankind (Genesis 3-Revelation 22) is the only superior standard of moral conduct that should be the basis for human behavior!
4) If God made us, then His rules should surely be followed for our best interest and activity. The Bible is the “Manufacturer’s Handbook” and should be carefully followed for the best use of the product (humans). Therefore the Bible begins in the very first verse (Genesis 1:1) showing that there is but one suitable explanation for the material world and human behavior: God. The Creation in a week of 24-hour days, and the weaknesses of humans, are all simply set forth in Genesis 1-3. The “Christian Evidence Textbook” will make “children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world” (Philippians 2:15). Jehovah is God, and Jesus Christ is His Prophet.
There is no other book in any religion, nor written by man (philosophical, logical, or psychological) that guides to good behavior and inward reflection like the Bible.
5) The Creation establishes that there is God; the Old Testament establishes there is One God; and Jesus Christ (and the New Testament) establishes that The One God Loves each person’s soul.
When Paul preached to those who had “no gods” he started with the Creation (Acts 14:15-18), but when preaching to those familiar with the Divine Creation and The One God, he stressed God’s plan that led to Jesus Christ (Acts 13:16-41). God, The Creator, is at the “beginning” and Jesus Christ, The Obedient Son, is at the end of the world (Ephesians 3:8-12), and The Holy Spirit wrote it all down!
THERE IS NO OTHER GOD THAN THIS ONE!
