Forgiveness and Faith

Jesus Christ said: "’Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him. And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him.’ And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith" (Luke 17:3-5).

(1) Who are you to judge another person’s heart? Legislation determining what are “hate crimes,” and Media rejecting confession of wrong-doing are contrary to God’s Word.

(2) Jesus said, “out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”  (Matthew 12:34). We must assume that spoken words are “heart-felt.”

(3) Sin is a violation of God’s Word. Who are you to add arbitrary, man-made “works of penance” to make someone’s repentance to your liking? It is “godly sorrow [that] produces repentance leading to salvation”                             (2 Corinthians 7:10). Repentance is between the sinner and God. - 6-15-2021

Brutality Is Hateful - Mini Article Now Available

Those who cruelly, viciously kick and beat a political opponent, shoot parked policemen, plant explosives among the public, or recklessly maim and injure people should thank God we no longer live under the Law of Moses, for God’s justice dealt harshly with cruelty: "If a man causes disfigurement of his neighbor, as he has done, so shall it be done to him - fracture for fracture, eye for eye, tooth for tooth: as he has caused disfigurement of a man, so shall it be done to him.” (Leviticus 24:19-20) John the Baptist commanded soldiers, "Do not intimidate anyone,” or “no police brutality.” To do otherwise is the definition of a “hate crime." Christians recognize that, without “the kindness and the love of God our Savior,” people are "living in malice and envy, hateful and hating one another" (Titus 3:3-4). Forgiveness ends brutality - ask for it! - September 28, 2020
