Jesus defined His mission when He said: "For the Son of Man has come to save that which was lost” (Matthew 18:11). Define “lost.” It is from a Greek word meaning “wasted, ruined, lost,” and Satan is called “Apollyon,” meaning “him who lays waste” (Revelation 9:11). Is your life being wasted through alcohol and drugs, sex and babies outside of marriage, hatred and racism, violence and murder, or cheating and stealing? Then Satan rules your life! To break Satan’s power, Jesus became “flesh and blood,” “that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage” (Hebrews 2:14-15). “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace” (Ephesians 1:7). Baptism is into His death (Romans 6:3). - January 3, 2022

Proverbs 21:5: “The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty” Work, hard work, and plenty of it is the only way to true wealth. Solomon also said: “Do you see a man who excels in his work? He will stand before kings; He will not stand before unknown men” (Proverbs 22:29); and,
“All the labor of man is for his mouth, And yet the soul is not satisfied” (Ecclesiastes 6:7).
Without earning our own way, we become slaves.
“The hand of the diligent will rule, But the lazy man will be put to forced labor” (Proverbs 12:24).
Jesus said there is more to life: "Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you” (John 6:27).
